Make our Dream of a Park a Reality

The City of Sarasota now owns the land for the Rosemary District park. How do we want to use it? This informal SURVEY will give you a chance to suggest activities and programs to hold in our park — and to volunteer to help make them happen.

Rosemary District residents and stakeholders have been lobbying for a centrally-located neighborhood park since 2016.

After years of searching and negotiating, land for a park is under contract to purchase in a public-private partnership. The City of Sarasota is contributing $890,000 from accumulated Park Impact Fees and Rosemary District residents, stakeholders and friends must contribute $120,000.

And we did it!

Thanks to our neighbors in Rosemary District and the wider Sarasota community we were able to give the City of Sarasota a check for $120,000 and still have funds left over to spend on making our park one to be especially proud of.

The Rosemary District neighborhood park will be designed and developed as a public-private partnership, involving the community at every step in the process.

We are still building a fund for park expenditures beyond what the City normally allocates. Our goal is $20,000.
